Can't find .pst files
I need to find my .pst files so I can get my Outlook working again.
I was able to find files in my older 2011 version, but don't know where to look for the .pst files in the 2016 version.
If I could just figure out how to look at all the ATI 2016 files, like I did in 2011, I could probably find the pst files. I did a full back upps.
Thanks for your help,
Bob

Hi Pat:
Thanks for your reply. I'm not familiar with regedit. But I did see a tab in Acronis 2016 that lists exclusions.
I saw something that scares me. I saw "*.tib" listed. Isn't that the Acronis backup extention? If so, that means that I'm not really backing up anything? Everything is excluded. Thats scary.
I hope I'm wrong on that?
Thanks,
Bob

Bob,
I believe you want to "Mount" an image/.TIB file. In ATI 2016 you use Windows Explorer to mount an image.
In Windows Explorer, right-click the image file that you want to mount, and then click Mount image. The Mount wizard opens.
Once a drive letter is assigned, you can use Windows Explorer to search for the .pst file.

Don't worry, it just means that ATI doesn't include TIB files in backups. THat would allow you to backup a disk where a partition is used to store TIB files.

Hi All:
Thank you for your replies.
The .pst files have been recovered.
My son has some kind of remote device where he is able to look at my computer remotely. He was actually in FL, when he did it. Im in PA.
He found the pst files and restored them. I don't know exactly how, but he found the pst files...yipee.
thanks much,
Bob

Bob,
Use yiour search function to find the location of the pst files, then trace them down yourselves. It is something that might help in the future.

Hi GH and all:
Thanks for the post.
Sorry I didn't answer sooner, but I was bouncing back from chemo I got this past Monday.
I believe that the doctor treats and God heals.
Guys, be sure to get your prostate checked by a urologist at least yearly. And with a psa test.
I'm looking forward to complete healing by God's grace.
Back to the pst files.
What you said about searching for pst files was probably what my son did. He never worked with Acronis before, but he found the files after opening my Acronis program...yipee.
I have a lot more to learn about Acronis. But I'm sure glad Acronis did a Full backup. I noticed there are exclusions in my Acronis. I have no idea how they got there. I just hope it's not excluding something that shouldn't be excluded.
Thanks all for your help.

From within Outlook- if you go to File, Info, Account settings and look around in there, it'll give the location of the .pst file. I have a shortcut to it on my desktop so I can "manually" back it up periodically, along with it being backed up by Acronis.
