Can't modify backup options: rotating circle next to name

Thread needs solution

I have a 400GB backup of files and folders to the cloud. I completed it a few days ago (it took 8 days!). I want to change the options for the backup, but the Options, Recover Files, and Back up Now buttons are all grayed out, and the circle to the right of the backup name is rotating instead of showing a down arrow.

I've been waiting for it to stop rotating for more than an hour.

What is happening, and what can I do?
