Cloning problem please help!

Thread needs solution

I recently bought a PNY SSD to replace my current HDD with. The PNY SSD that I got came with a product key for Acronis. To make sure I knew what I was doing I looked up videos of people using Acronis. WHen they do it its just a few simple buttons and a message pops up that the cloning process has begun. When I do it Acronis tells me I have to restart my computer to start the cloning so I click the restart button and when it restarts it give me the standard Lenovo screen with it saying at the top right corner starting Acronis. It never gets off that screen and stays frozen until i shut it down and boot it back up. when it boots back up nothing is done. Please help me figure out a solution to this problem. Thanks! :)

I use a Lenovo Z70 Laptop

Steven,

Please refer to the link below on how to clone laptops.

The recommended method is to create rescue media (usb or dvd)...Remove the old HDD & install the new SSD...Attach the old HDD via USB...boot from rescue media...perform the clone.

My personal recommendation is to perform a disk mode/full partition list backup prior to performing the clone.  This will protect you if something goes wrong with the clone...see picture below.
