Crash when trying to create new Files/Folder backup [macOS Sierra Beta 10.12 16A239j]

Thread needs solution

I am using a beta of macOS Sierra (macOS 10.12 beta 16A239j).

When I take the following steps, the application crashes (meaning it self-terminates; no error/exception is displayed):

  1. Click on Add Backup
  2. Click on Change source
  3. Click on Files and folders

I should probably submit this as a ticket. Anyway, anybody else encounter this?

The current version of Acronis 2016 for Mac is not supported for anything beyond El Capitan.  Even then, the last release has a bug with bootcamp systems so they've been recommending using the previous version as well.  There should be at least one final update for 2016 before 2017 to address the bootcamp issue, but doubt there will be any support for Sierra.

Have you tried grabbing the Acronis 2017 beta software and testing it with Sierra?  Now would be the time to start submitting feedback through the beta forum and the 2017 beta applicaition.

Mac os sierra gm version has been released and i find that ATI 2017 is crashing.

Could you please let us know when ATI 2017 will support mac os sierra.

Thanks

We have no idea here in the user forum.  The gM releaase of Sierra is released, but still not the official public release.  I doubt it will be compatible until the next update which is usually quarterly (give or take).   You can contact techncial support using the "customer care" option to ask them if they can provide any further details though.
