Create boot CD to clone SSD to SSD

Thread needs solution

I have Acronis True Image 2016.

I can't seem to figure out how to make an Acronis Bootable CD to access the clone wizard like in my 2014 version.

Chris, welcome to this user forum.

The process for creating a bootable CD is pretty straight forward, you need to open the Tools option in ATIH 2016 - this can be done in two ways, one within the application GUI by clicking on the Tools icon, or else go via the Start >> Programs >> Acronis menu structure where you will find a Tools and Utilities folder, select the Bootable Rescue Media Builder option here.

Once you have the bootable media burnt on CD, then you will again see (when booted from CD) a Tool option and within it, the option to Clone.

New to this forum.

"Previously a Norton Ghost user turned True Image 2014 user and now upgraded to 2016 but installed on my PC"

Thanks for getting back to me quick. I'm trying to clone a 256 gig SSD to a 480 gig SSD and it not only kept failing but locked up my computer fiercely at times. I basically use a double USB 3.0 double HD dock for cloning but sometimes have to go back to simply using a spare PC to perform the clone or even my machine that has pleny of expantion.

I booted it up with the new one and i am now able to clone. It's still in progress so i won't know till it's done.

Chris, just one further comment, please ensure that you are using the latest build 6559 version of ATIH 2016 as this has much better support for a wider range of SSD drives in the bootable rescue media along with more USB 3.0 support.

See post http://forum.acronis.com/forum/116824 for more details of the changes in update 6559.

Yeah i did an update before i made the boot CD following your instructions.

Hopefully that will have done it.

Thanks
