Creating a WinPE-based x64 ISO for a Win 10 with TI 2016 and the MSoft ADK

Thread needs solution

Recommendations, pls, for the best current guide for this.

I have 'done' one a long time ago on XP with AIK but things have moved on a bit!

Just download and install the Microsoft ADK from Microsoft directly (link in my signature).

Once downloaded and installed, start Acronis and go to TOOLS >>> Rescue Media builder.

Select the option to create WinPE-based media with Acronis plug-in

Pick the resulting file type (.iso, .wim, CD or flash drive).  Acronis will do the rest.  If you create an .iso, you'll have to burn it to disc with another tool like imgburn or Windows.

Win10 ADK has most of the drivers you'll need for networking and storage already built in so you shouldn't need to add any additional drivers.  If you find that you do, you'll need to add them using Windows 10 ADK comands or a third party tool like DISM Gui - don't worry about that unless you need to.

This is a very easy task with the current ATIH 2016 option for the Rescue Media Builder in the Tools option, this will start the download of the Windows ADK automatically for you when you choose to create the WinPE Rescue Media.

If you need to add any additional device drivers for any hardware not detected when you boot the WinPE media, then there is an excellent guide to doing this in the Best Practices Forum. See the first sticky entry.
