DCOM errors

Thread solved

I'm on the 6595 build which it seems is the most recent.

Running W10, V1903, with all the fixes including June 27th's KB4501375, which includes a fix for the Event Viewer which didn't work with the May 2019 update. See Link to documentation for KB fix for details of fix.

Now I see hundreds of these errors in DistributedCOM, "The server {1EF75F33-893B-4E8F-9655-C3D602BA4897} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.". Seems to happen with Shutdown I think, have not nailed that down yet, could be booting?

Googling 1EF75F33-893B-4E8F-9655-C3D602BA4897 it seems this is part of Acronis?

A link to this forum, https://forum.acronis.com/forum/acronis-true-image-2017-forum/server-1ef75f33-893b-4e8f-9655-c3d602ba4897-did-not-register-dcom-within-required-timeout-0

It claims it was fixed in 2019 version but it seems it wasn't?

I did find this, https://kb.acronis-infoprotect.ru/content/62200

from it:

================

If the issue persists after installing build 17750, you can disable the part in Acronis program that is responsible for generating these events. The cost would be that you will not be able to generate public links for files stored in Acronis Cloud synchronization folders from Windows Explorer. If you do not generate such links or do not use Acronis Cloud storage at all, you would not have any negative consequences at all.

================

I am not using the 'Acronis Cloud' unless it is done automatically under the covers for me? I do NOT have SYNC even created.

Will the process in that KB article not cause me some harm (it is for 2016 as well) if I am wrong on the Cloud?

Funny thing is I never saw this problem before? My Shutdowns were fast, but since V1903 some have gone on for over a minute. I suspect that is why I don't get these errors on every SHUTDOWN?

Is there any 'harm' in just ignoring this and enduring the longer shutdowns?

Irv, if you are not using Acronis Cloud then you could follow the steps outlined in KB 62200: Acronis True Image: Windows event log is spammed with Event ID 10010 "The server {1EF75F33-893B-4E8F-9655-C3D602BA4897} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.", referencing ti_managers_proxy.dll

Alternatively, just ignore and walk away when doing the shutdown and let it do its thing!

Steve, thanks.

I never got e-mail about the post it seems (or I missed it). I may just leave it be as it seems it doesn't no harm.

Hi! Notifications on commented topics have been disabled in your profile (enabled the setting)

It is checked and I had always gotten notices before? I assume you changed it, as I did get notice of your message, thank you.
