Delay after Startup not working

Thread needs solution

I started my computer around 10AM,and immediately the Files Backup scheme started. I had not been in my office for a few days. I stopped it and slowly, the computer went back to normal speed. Then it started again around 11AM. I stopped it. It is scheduled to run at 11:30 AM. I have it set not to run until 60 minutes after startup.

I really do not need it as nothing happened since the last back up. I do not see a way to stop a scheduled backup without messing with the whole Schedule, which I do not want to do.

Thank you.

It is difficult to say exactly why you saw the behaviour that you describe other than by making some assumptions here.

It is possible that your computer was in a hybrid sleep / hibernated state rather than being powered off while you were out of the office for a few days.  This can cause some strange issues because the computer has not done a full shutdown and restart.

From your description, it does sound like your delay for 60 minutes for missed backups was honoured given you say you started the computer at 10am then the task wanted to run at 11am (after stopping a task that started straight away).

I can only suggest ensuring that you do a full Shutdown when you will be away from the office for a while - press the shift key while clicking on shutdown for this.

Thanks, I doubt that was it. But it did slow down the computer very very much. When the backup ran at 11:30 and finished, things went faster after that. I find that if you stop a process it still slows down the computer. Thanks.
