Hello, I am aware that the post is a bit older, but still it shows the error as in my program:
"The quotas have been exceeded".
Why not just write, hard disk space is full, everyone understands this sentence: "The quotas have been exceeded." are incomprehensible.
It would be nice if you could make this more understandable so that the loan doesn't have to google it afterwards.
PS:
I want the last file to be deleted, i.e. a maximum of files, but Acronis keeps failing.
Fortunately nothing has happened so far, so I was able to determine that no backup was made for 2 months.
An email was not sent either, it cannot even be set up because it simply does not work.
Version 2017
Thanks for the time.

Rico, sorry but with just the brief information given it is impossible to advise what actual issue you are seeing on your PC or whether it is as simple as the disk being full or not?
If you want to provide more information then we will try to help.
I would recommend downloading a copy of the MVP Log Viewer tool which can be found via the Acronis Community Tools link in my signature, then looking at the ti_demon logs for your backup task.

Hello Everyone,
this message usually indicates one of the following issues:
1)
Issue: NAS: the limit (quota) for the NAS user account, indicated during backup setup, has been reached. This quota/limitation is configured in NAS settings outside of Acronis software. Acronis has no influence on it. The NAS user account is completely unrelated to Acronis account and is set exclusively through the NAS management panel
Solution: Enter NAS management panel and increase quota for the NAS account, that was used in backup configuration
2)
Issue: External drive, where backups are saved, has quotas enabled for different Windows users
Solution: Right-click the disk, where backups are saved, in Windows Explorer, and if there is Quota tab, click on it and click “Show Quota settings”. Increase the quota for the SYSTEM account and the current Windows user account.

What do I want to say:
"The quotas have been exceeded".
You can also simply name it:
There is no access to the storage medium or the hard disk does not have enough free space, the backup failed.Every normal citizen can understand this sentence without any technical background knowledge, without Google.
Second note:
A problem that comes up every now and then.
In my case, it is set so that Acronis deletes the 9 file when a new backup is started.
But that's exactly what fails at some point and then no longer works, even if you save it again in Acronis, the error remains.
Then the 9th backup is never deleted and further backups are made in backup folders 10, 11, 12 etc. until the hard disk is full and the next backup fails.
In this case you have to delete all backups, delete the task in Acronis and create a new task in Acronis, if 9 backups have been created over the course of time, the 9th backup will be deleted again correctly.
This misconduct happens every now and then, about once a year, not all the time, but it does happen.
The problem is that you don't notice, in the worst case you don't have any backups for several months.
.
What Acronis also lacks in one setting:
If the hard drive is full (if there are several backups in the directory), delete the last backup (by date) in the directory.
This means that a backup can still be carried out at any time, even if the hard disk were full.
Thx

Hello Rico,
backups are deleted in sets: when a complete set of a full backup and all its dependencies (incremental and differential backups) becomes subject to deletion, the set (called "version chain" in the product GUI) is removed. Until then, even if the oldest backup falls under cleanup criteria, it will be retained until all its dependencies also fall under the same cleanup criteria, defined in the backup settings.
The above means that the very minimum free disk space requirement for the destination storage device for automatic backups to work is two sizes of a full backup ("Single version scheme", other schemes require even more disk space in the destination location). Any less amount will result in backup error.
Note: Acronis True Image 2019 for Windows introduced a new option for you to have more control over local backups - "Clean up versions". This feature permits deleting just the selected backup versions and their dependencies on demand, without changing automatic cleanup rules and waiting until they are applied (see https://kb.acronis.com/content/61844 for more details)
