Different HD destination not recognised

Thread needs solution

Just updated to 3-PC 2016 from 1 PC 2013.

But when I attempt to backup to a different HD (browse for new location/select) the procedure runs but after it has finished complains about the absence of the previous destination. This even when the original location has been disconnected from the PC.

I can see no obvious way of fixing this. Extraordinarily uhnhelpful.

I'm shocked by the problems I'm encountering with this version. It reminds me of all the stories I heard about Acronis's obstructiveness years ago.

Now I try a second PC. Different HD. No previous Acronis backups on the destination. Again, it balks and complains that can't find something. But I've selected the boot disk as source and the (USB) destination HD. What can possibly be missing? When I look at the destination after the failure a "MyBackups" directory has been created with an "Intel" sub-folder - but nothing in them.

Fails (after half an hour) with the message

The specified file does not exist: E:\Intel_system_full_b1_s1v2.tib

Then I find this file 1 level up from the Intel folder and attempt to move it to the "correct destination". And suddenly it doesn't exist.

WTF is this all about?

GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK!!!!!!!!!!

The recovery media creation dialog is also extremely hostile.

Depressing having just spent £41 to get something that resists being used.
