Disabling True Image Temporarily

Thread needs solution

I use True Image only to backup my laptop to the external hard drive on my network when I am in the office. However, I travel frequently and would like to temporarily disable True Image, or at least scheduling, because True Image really goes nuts and screws up my laptop when it can't find the external hard drive. I have no idea why it can't deal with that situation and simply go into some kind of hibernation instead of getting hung up, but it is very annoying. I realize I can use services.msc to do it manually, but that is a lot of trouble and requires a reboot. Any suggestions for an easier way to get True Image to stand down for a while?

My guess would be to change the scheduled tasks to "do not schedule" so the tasks can be run only manually--when desired.
