Thread needs solution

Hi there,

we wonder if there is any way to download an image from Acronis Cloud.
If our system crashes we're not sure how to access the image file when booting from rescue media.

ABD, please see KB document: 56529: Acronis True Image Cloud: Family Dashboard which shows the options available via the Cloud Dashboard webpage, which includes the option to download your backup image data for using in a recovery situation.

Thanks for the anser. However, this avenue only seems to allow a download of all files in a ZIP folder. It does not

- include system partitions which are (possibly) part of the online image

- yield a *.tib-file download that could be used for onsite recovery later

- allow selecting a version other than the latest one

Is there no way to achieve this (which is also what ABD was looking for, I believe).

I have found the downloading of backups in zip format to be so unreliable that I would classify it as useless. If there is a timeout (either locally or more often with Acronis Server) the download aborts.

I have pointed this out several times to Acronis but they do not seem to be interested in fixing the problem.

Ideally the zip file should be fully created and a download link sent to the user. I suggest you make you concerns known to Acronis via feedback.

Thomas, please see the following section of the ATI 2019 User Guide on this topic.  This deals with the various options for recovering data stored in the Cloud.

One of the other MVP's (Bobbo) did some intensive testing of Cloud based disk recovery a while back and if I remember correctly, was able to successfully do so.

See forum topic: Restore fails from cloud, W10 partitions, Acronis 2016 Build 6571 (6/2/16) - then take time to read through to post at this point in the topic where Bobbo gives the results of his testing of a Cloud recovery using different scenarios.

Thanks Ian and Steve for taking the time to answer. The replies, however, are not on point.

I agree the ZIP download is pretty much useless - especially if one want to create a system recovery.

The link Steve pposted are an extensive discussion of cloud recovery issues, but I cannot find anything on tib-file downloads there - and neither in the documentation lonk.

Any further information?

Thomas.

Thomas, when you download a backup in *.tib form, it uses the same process as file download. The *.tib file is created dynamically as the download of the zip file containing it is going on. My recollection is somewhat hazy on how you configure it - I have not attempted to used it for well over a year. I have a suspicion that the download is of the disk image at a particular date, rather than multiple dates.

PS A lot of the documentation for ATI is not as detailed as one would hope. Often the user is left to trial and error in working out how to do something.
