Drive Not Available

Thread needs solution

If I set TI2016 to backup to a network drive on a schedule (every Tuesday morning), what happens if that network drive is not available at the scheduled time?

I would assume that ATI will periodically try to implement the backup until it is successful. This happens with Cloud backups. If you look at the details for the backup there should will be the time for the next backup; where a recently scheduled backup did not start or complete successfully the time for the next backup is from my experience less than three hours away. Often less than an hour.

The backup will start and "error out" with a "cannot find drive" message.
Depending upon your task setttings (scheduler/advanced settings) , next computer startup, the missed backup will run or not run--depending upon settings and in the future will run at the next scheduled time.

This is good to know. Will changing this setting stick, or would you recommend creating an new backup task?

PS This Configuration options is available for cloud backup, and with the defaults (I am sure I have not changed them) the behavour where there is an unsuccessful attempt to backup as as described above. However, in my case the backup started but aborted (I think it was the 'unable to create system snapshot' error that cause the backup to abort).

The task will fail. You can set a task to run if missed at next startup.

Is your network drive attached via cable, USB or WiFi?
