email notification stopped working
I use Acronis True Image daily since Aug 2015.
My settings are to notify me by email when the backup ends. Everything worked without problems till a week ago. But since May 17 the notification does not work any more, and Acronis does not even warn me about a problem with that. It just does not send the messages.
The problem is not with the email account that I use for sending, or the account that I use for receiving the messages.
I use build 6569, can't remember when I made the update and whether the problem is related to that update.
Is this a known problem?
Is there a solution?

Hi,
My Gmail stopped working a while ago on Acronis 2016 latest build, I was using port 465 and SSL. I switched it to port 587 and TLS and email notifications started working again for me, no problem each day with an email notification.

Steve, interesting..! I thought I had tried all the various permutations of ports / security on this one, but just tried it again on Gmail with port 587 and TLS and hey presto! It successfully sent a test email again! So maybe this is something that has changed with Gmail rather than Acronis. I am currently on an old Samsung netbook which is running ATIH 2010 on Windows 7 so definately nothing to do with 2016.
Will have to test this on my ATIH 2014, 2015 & 2016 systems when I get home from my trip abroad.

Steve,
Not sure if it was a GMail change but Acronis 2016 started working for me again with nightly email notifications when my backup ran successefully, it was working like I said with SSL and port 465 and then it stopped working...and the change to TLS and port 587 made it work again, hope it works for others!!

I'm running B6569 and have had no issues with the email notifications not working. I get an email each night when the backup job completes. I'm using Roadrunner for my emails.

Hi Steve (and the other Steve),
When I use port 465, test messages are sent OK. But no notification when the backup completes.
I tried changing to port 587 and surprisingly I did get a notification message at the end of the backup process.
So no idea if something changed in Gmail, or in Acronis 2016, but you found a solution for my problem and I am very thankful to both of you!
I hope that the same solution will work for others that encounter that problem.
Yair
