Hi,

I have a hypothetical question regarding local encrypted backups.

If I need to restore files from a (ATI) encrypted backup to a different drive than the original source, (say due to a failure of the original drive), can this be done as long as I have the backup password?

Thanks.

Providing when you speak of encrypted backups you are only meaning a backup that was protected with a password when it was created by an ATIH task, then yes, if you know the password, this can be restored to a different drive with no problem as long as the drive has the capacity to receive the backup.

Yes I mean encrypted using the ATI 'Encrypt Backup' option with a password when creating a new backup task.

Thanks for the reply :)
