Evaluating True Image 2016 - Backup stuck on 'queued'
Hi,
I'm evaluating the trial version of TI 2016 and have run into a problem.
I've set up a backup to create a weekly full and then daily incremental backups, writing the data across my LAN to a disk on my home server (once I'm confident that the local backups work I will also create a cloud backup). The full backup and the first two nightly incrementals worked fine but when I checked this morning laast night's backup was stuck on 'queued'. I cancelled the backup and have tried twice to run manual backups, with the same result.
I've looked at the forums and this seems to be a known problem with no clear solution.
Does anyone have any advice? Reinstalling TI 2016 is NOT an acceptable solution - I do not want a piece of software that should run reliably in the background having to be reinstalled every few days.
I'm running TI on a Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 with W8.1. The server is running WHS 2011.
Thanks.

Well, it is running now, just to let you all know.
But I have no idea why.
Because of Steve's comment, I tried scheduling a backup, but the time passed and nothing happened, other than it got queued again.
So then I went into Task Manager and ended all Acronis-named tasks. Then tried to load the program and got 'file not found' error. I closed that and tried once more mount the application and it is now running.
So . . . I continue to be befuddled.
Thanks for your replies.

Steve,
I have been wrestling with a "stuck queued" problem for several hours. I tried the scheduler manager and It will not run. It brings up a cmd prompt screen displaying inst=den start=yes loc task=0-0 >. Acronis used to be good back a couple of years ago. Now it is bonkers with heavy startup load etc. I am trying to BACKUP NOW! WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD ANYONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND QUEUE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Show me the queue!
Allow me to clear the queue!
This sucks!
Even the Burroughs Medium System MCP back in the 1970s had a PQ command for a program that reset the queue. Are they teaching anyone how to program anymore?
I have thought in the past Acronis was the best. I am now convinced I was wrong.
Thanks for listening.

Charles, welcome to these user forums.
If you have run the schedmgr.exe as administrator and it has opened a command prompt window, then it is ready to receive the commands it accepts.
In that command prompt window, type get list and it will produce a list off all scheduled task activity. If you want to clear that list, then type task zap and it will do so, as can be shown by repeating the get list command again.
If you are seeing a queued status when trying to run a task using Backup now, then this is because another task is already active and Acronis will only allow one task to be run at a time.
Clearing the queue will not stop an already executing task, you will need to use Windows Task Manager to end all Acronis tasks, and the Services.msc console to stop all Acronis Services. See KB document: 56697: Acronis True Image 2016: Services and Processes which hasn't been updated for 2017 yet, so you would need to also include two new Mobile Backup services that have been introduced.
