Expired 2016.....Can't backup before upgrading software

Thread needs solution

My 2016 True Image expired without warning. I want to backup before being forced to upgrade to 2018 but I can't use the software because it's expired and the new license is only for 2018. How can I backup my computer before I upgrade?

Matt, welcome to these User Forums.

The only versions of ATI that expire are the subscription versions, which then revert to the status of expired trial versions.

See KB 2768: Trial version limitations of Acronis products

If you have a perpetual licenced version of ATI 2016 then this should never expire - you can check the licence type by signing in to your Acronis account.

My Acronis account shows that I have a perpetual license for ATI 2016 & 2017 and I am unable to perform a local backup due to the message " Your computer and data is exposed to risk Your Acronis True Image Cloud subscription is expired. You may only access the backup recovery functionality. "

I do not use the cloud feature of ATI but prefer backup to a locally attached drive.

Alan, welcome to these User Forums.

If you have perpetual licences for ATI 2016 & 2017 and can see your serial numbers, then check that the serial used in your installed software is showing the same serial value.

Thanks Steve! I upgraded to ATI 2018... the backup bombed out 4 times. I ended up doing a straight copy of my important data as this current system is about to be replaced
