Failed to create bootable media

Thread needs solution

I am trying to create a windows PE boot media and somewhere near the end I get a message saying "failed to create bootable media" and the only information that I can get from it is "failed to copy the product files." There is a link to a webpage that says "Link to KB with error code" which just takes me to a webpage that says there is no information.

Note that I was able to create the windows PE bootable media in the 2015 version but am not able to do so in the 2016 version.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thank you

Here is a link to the Ti 2016 User Guide. Have a look at Section 11.1.1 and subsequent subsections thereof and see if you might have missed a step in the process.

There have been many other people with the same problem, me included. The solution was to uninstall all acronis products and then reinstall. I am using the Win 10 ADK but some people are using the Win 8 ADK even with Win 10.

Thank you for the info. No doubt the Boot Media Add on is missing. The manual suggests that I download it from the Acronis Web site however, I can't seem to find a "Download section" ( figures)

Thanks for your help

That may be the answer. Thanks for your input. I am running Win 7 with the Win 8 ADK and the AIK. I find it very frustrating that Acronis continually sends product to market only half done.

The Media Add on is located in your account on the Acronis Support site. Log on to your account and select software and downloads then select your product and available downloads for that product will be displayed. By the way, this is the step I suggested that you overlooked.

Thank you, I actually found that download last night. I appreciate your efforts and I realize that you are a volunteer on this forum. I downloaded the file installed it and tried again. No luck! Still the same error.

I have Windows AIK installed as well as ADK for Windows 8.1 I re-checked that installations on those and they seem fine.

I am running Win7 pro on my production machine, (as well as Win 8 and 10 on other machines). I am at a loss now and it is really too bad that I have to turn to volunteers to solve issues with "Paid" software.

Thanks

Okay, this is what I ended up having to do.

I uninstalled anything  to do with Acronis. I used Revo Uninstaller to get rid of all of the left over Registry entries and folders, files etc.

Uninstalled, both Windows ADK and AIK, Reboot

Installed ADK and AIK, Reboot

Install ATI 2016 and then the Add on

It seems to be working now. It would seem that Acronis needs to run on the same drive as the AIK (Which needs to be on the C drive). If you have a boot drive (e.g.. SSD) and another drive to run the bulk of your programs from then you could end up with unexpected results.

Thanks to the Volunteers for your help. I think it is a pretty sad state of affairs that a Software Vendor has to resort to unpaid people to fix their problems. Note that I have tried to contact the support system and they have it very well hidden. I think that they try to make it as difficult as possible so they don't have to deal with frustrated customers.
