"Failed to open data stream" with Full Backup without Validation
Hallo,
I know the problem has been discussed several times in the forum, but all solutions I found did not fix
the issue.
I'm using WIN7 and ATI2016 and I'm getting the mentioned error message.
It seems, the backup is correct( at least the backup size seems to be plausible and I can browse the backup),
nevertheless the backup failed. I started totally new backup sessions (without validation and to other folder) but it still failed.
Finally I deleted the data base (however, two files could not be deleted) without success.
Used to be it worked fine. However, I'm now using the same drive but a different drive number. Maybe that's
a hint about the problem.
Can anybody help please ?
Thank you
Vielen Dank

Steve,
Thank you very much for your detailed answer.
I did what you proposed, but I still have problems to delete a single file. It is "Archives.db".
I killed all Acronis tasks I found with task manager. Nevertheless this single file can not be
deleted.
Do you have any idea what kind of Acronis task or service still blocks that file ? How can I
find out which task it is ?
Thank you for your help.

Robert, you must kill all the Acronis Services as well as the Acronis tasks (programs).
Type services.msc at the Run prompt or Search window and open the main Services Console and this will show you all the Services, you can also see these from the Task Manager windows where you should also found a button for Services to launch the same console window.
If the Acronis Services are not stopped, these will relaunch the Acronis programs you have ended and keep locks on the Database files.

Hello Steve,
Thank you very much for your great and patient help.
It works! I found the last running hidden Acronis service.
Now database is new and everything works as expected.

Robert
