Failed to run a scheduled backup (Win 10 PRO, Acronis TI 2016)
Hello,
I have many issues with Acronis True Image 2016 (build 6595) running scheduled backups and I am really disappointed about. With 2013 version I had not had some many working problems.
I have setup a bunch of daily backups in the morning. My computer is not sometimes ON on that time, so when I switch on it I expect the scheduled task to run (it worked in that way on Acronis TI 2013 at least). Unofortunately, sometimes it works as expected, sometimes no. In the latter, I cannot even start the backup manually.
Any idea?
Thank you
Riccardo

Hi Steve,
thanks for your reply. I installed ATI 2016 on a new system and yes, I have created new scheduled tasks.
I am very disappointed with this version of ATI, it simply does not work as supposted to be! Don't know why, but if computer is not running at the time of scheduled task, when I switch on the task sometimes works, sometimes no, randomly. This is all other than sure.
With ATI 2013 no issues: scheduled task in the night? At startup, no matter if the next morning or one month later, the scheduled task run.
Just for an example. I had three tasks supposed to run yesterday evening (at different times). I have swtiched on the computer this morning and... surprise! Tasks not run. I have to wait for this evening, when my computer could not be running.
Anyway, thanks for your suggestion. I will try to read that document.
Bye.

Ok, men.
Totally unreliable software. I downloaded the log viewer: when I run the log viewer I have been noticed that TI 2017 is not installed. If I click on OK, the viewer opens and no logs are showed.
I had created a scheduled backup this evening to run at 21:15. I then switched off the computer, just to test. I then switched on at 22:00, no task has been executed at startup!!!
Ridicolous, I have no words, this software, if it works in this manner, is totally unusable, sorry.

Riccardo, if the log viewer is not showing you the ATIH 2016 logs then it sounds like you may have downloaded an older version of the tool.
Try downloading via the following link: MVP Log Viewer 1.24 which works with the new and old versions of ATIH from 2015 and above.
If needed, you can open a Support Case directly with Acronis Support as users with ATIH 2016 and later have up to 2 years of free support (via Live Chat and Email) from the date of purchase.
