File does not exist R:\Entire PC_full_b9_s1_vX.tib

Thread needs solution

Hi Forum!

I have been receiving this error all day as I try to run a full backup.

the "X" in the _vX within the file name (See POST subject heading) changes as ACronis attempts to run another backup.

The backup files on the external drive show 0 kbs.

thoughts?

Thanks!

Rick, have you checked that your correct backup drive is still using drive letter R:\ and has not been given a different letter?

Please download a copy of the Log File Viewer app from the link in my signature below and use this to check what messages are being given in the service log for your backup task.

If you are seeing the backup task repeating itself over and over, then this is an indication that the Error Handling options are being triggered - I would advise clicking on the Options button for the task, then look at the Advanced tab and scroll down to the Error Handling section, expand this and look at the retry interval - I would expect this is showing an interval in Seconds, if so, change this to be a period of 1 Hour or more.

If you have manually deleted any backup files from your backup drive using Windows Explorer, then you will need to do a Validation for your backup task as the Acronis Database files will be out of synch with the actual files present.

So, I went against my better judgment and downloaded your exe file J
(never downoad something to your computer unless you explicitly know the person).

I checked the backup and it is still using the drive letter.
I have now switched the interval to 1 Hour.
I have not manually deleted any files (I believe).
I have tried to manually run a full backup.  No dice.
Frankly, I am not entirely sure what the to look for in the logs.
At this point, I am putting up a white flag.

Rick, please respond via the forum so that others can help you when I am not available (my bedtime here in the UK).

Please post copies of the log files so that we can try to help you understand what they are saying - you can use the Log File Viewer app to help you get the file to attach using the File attachments link below where you write updates.  See the File menu options in the viewer app.
