FULL DISK RECOVERY

Thread needs solution

I have a full backup of my laptop created when received new to include all partitions.

Now the partition structure has  changed by mistake leaving unallocated  space and partition data missing.

If I use this backup for recovery will it bring the hard drive to its original state including partittions?

Do I have to make any changes in BIOS when recovering disk image using the Acronis Dashboard.(At present after reboot the recovery process does not start)

I am using windows 8.1 and Acer Aspire S7-392 ultrabook.

Thanks for help and avice.

I am not an expert but Acronis recently saved my system after a disasterous Windows Update. I created a bootable acronis disk and restored my system that way.

If you create a bootable dvd then you will need to change the bios so that you can boot from the dvd.. You can create the generic bootable disk on another pc if needed.

Here is the Acronis Manual

Your best result will come when booted form the Acronis Rescue Media either CD or USB flash drive. If you restore the original image you will be back to where you started. You will have to tell your BIOS to boot from the Rescue Media. Exactly how you do this will depend on your machine. You may want to look in the manufacturers support forums for this information.
