Hdd replacement

Thread needs solution

Hi everyone,i have this problem: my pc with win7 has 3 hd (C is a ssd and D and F hdd) but D is broken and i need to replace it. I'd like to know how to use ATI 2016 in order to restore my sistem as i only have entire pc backup made before things went bad, i got no single disk backup.

Thanks in advance

Stefano, welcome to these user forums.

If you have an entire PC backup image file (.TIB) then this should include your failed D: HDD drive - you can confirm this by using Windows Explorer and double-clicking on the image file (.TIB) then looking at the contents - you should be able to navigate around the image and see your D: drive contents.

Assuming that all is OK at that point, then you can simply power down your system and replace your D: HDD with a new drive of equal size (or at least sufficient to hold the contents of the original drive), then either use Acronis to Recover the contents of that drive from the backup image file, or alternatively, assuming that D: only contains user files (documents, photos, music etc), you could simply copy the contents to the new drive via Windows Explorer.

See the ATIH 2016 User Guide: Recovering data section which shows the various options for recovery.
