How can I see the result of VALIDATING a backup?

Thread needs solution

I have a backup that won't Mount (see my question here).

I want to confirm that the backup is Valid (and eliminate that possible cause of problem)

But when I validate, I can't see the progress.  And I THINK my previous validation completed, but I can't see the RESULT of that one.

Clay, please download the Log File Viewer app from the link in my signature below - you can use this to read the Service log files that are created each time you perform a backup or validation action.

Normally, if any problems occur during a validation you will see a pop up message with options as to what actions can be taken, otherwise if all is OK it should either show a success message or a positive indicator (green tick).

"B:\Backup\OLD\Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB_inc_b1_s4_v1.tib"
"B:\Backup\OLD\Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB_inc_b1_s3_v1.tib"
"B:\Backup\OLD\Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB_inc_b1_s2_v1.tib" NOT Mountable
And I'm doing a Validate on this (1/2 done, but no errors so far)

"B:\Backup\OLD\Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB_full_b1_s1_v1-2.tib" MOUNTABLE
"B:\Backup\OLD\Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB_full_b1_s1_v1.tib"  MOUNTABLE

I'd be curious if you could recover from any of your INC with the v1-2 tib.  Normally the -2 at the end shows that the original backup with that name failed for some reason (usually happens when backing up across the network when a network issue occurs such as dropped packets, bad wireless connection, or a NAS times out because it runs out of processing resources), but the existing part of that backu was not automatically deleted.  As a result, Acrnisre-uses the original name but then appendeds -2, -3, etc. until that backup completes fully.  I've had hit or miss luck here with incrementals that followed when this occurs.

You could try moving the

B:\Backup\OLD\Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB_full_b1_s1_v1.tib

somewhere else, and renaming

B:\Backup\OLD\Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB_full_b1_s1_v1-2.tib  by removing the -2.

Then re-validate and see if it helps. This might make things worse for the following incrementals though, but might fix it too.  If it makes it worse, you would rename the file to the original name, move the other one back to the original location and try to validate again.
