How to completely disable cloud component

Thread needs solution

I recently installed Acronis 2016 to be able to view and extract from standlone backups/images.  I put it on a somewhat firewalled/monitored machine and got called on the carpet for suspicious activity "Port 7782 to an cloud hosting provider in Germany".

Reading online documentation I determined/surmised these are Acronis servers.

I need to be able to turn this off completely.  I have no use for cloud-based backups, even on my personal machine (would cost too much to backup 20TB).  So how do I disable this functionality?  You have dumbed-down Acronis sooo much I can't find any kind of settings/config/control panel.  I really want the "I am an advanced tech person and want to be able to fiddle with all the knobs/switches/levers!"

Zoltan, this is a user forum, so no-one here is responsible for the dumbing down of this Acronis product, we are just users like yourself.

There is no simple method of disabling the cloud component of this application - it is an integrated part of the application design and the product is intended for the home user market, not for business users.

You should contact Acronis Support and investigate the alternative business products that may provide more granularity of control over their components for use in a restricted business environment.

Hello Zoltan,

To answer the particular question about connection to port 7782: you can stop Acronis Managed Managed Machine Service Mini in services.msc window and set its Startup Type to Disabled.

However, keep in mind that Acronis True Image is designed primarily for usage in home and home office environments, where you do not have to report and fine-tune network connections at that low level. Some older versions of the product did not use the Internet at all, but now cloud-based services are deeply integrated in the product.

Slava
