How do I go about obtaining a refund on an upgrade ?

Thread needs solution

I'm really sorry to say that my experience with TI2016 and W10 pro has been a disaster. I have tried three clean installs of TI onto a clean W10 base and each time I get the same kind of issues. Backups created refuse to add to the backup list, either automatically as they are made or even manually. Once this has been attempted the dreaded 'Acronis is terminating processes and your PC will shut down in 2 minutes' permanently appears each shut down. Its not good !

How do I begin a refund claim ?

(This puchase of TI was an ugrade of TI2014 which I would like to retain for other use)

Here is the refund policy.

Here is the direct link to cleverbridge to submit the request.  My refund was processed in just a few hours.

Thankfully Acronis is very good about refunds for the upgrades. I upgraded from TI 2014 to TI 2016 when I purchased a new laptop and had a significant number of problems/issues. I moved to Macrium Reflect v6 Home Edition and it works perfectly, and the performance is significant,y better.

I agree that the refund policy is good and fast.  Just got a refund for 2016.  I plan to keep TI Home 2010 on my Windows 7 workstation and will probably buy Acronis 201(X) when the issues are fixed.  For now will use Macrium 6.1 on my Windows 10 laptop.

I've used image programs for years starting with Partition Magic.

I switched to Acronis in 2010 I think, and have upgraded every version since, but to be honest, it has to be the most unintuitive program out there and has steadily got worse.

I purchased the 2016 upgrade a few days ago,  and have put in a refund request also.

Too many issues I can't be bothered trying to work around anymore, so I tried the trial version of Macrium Reflect.

What a difference is all I can say, Reflect is how Aconis should work.

The difference is Macrium Reflect actually works like other software that you buy....without having to make it a hobby. Look in the Macrium logs, which are accessible and easy to read, as logs should be, and compare backup times with what you were getting with TI. Mine are orders of magnitude better.

I've actually started using W10's own disk image utility, and while its a little clumsy and limited only to full disk images (although you can choose to add other disks and partitions and so on) works very reliably. A full image of my 22Gb C drive takes little more than a couple of minutes and the restores don't take any longer either.

I haven't decided what route to go down as yet. I know many like and recommend Macrium although at the moment I'm just finding it great to have an image utility that doesn't have any system overheads or quirky behaviour. Full images in conjunction with W10's own 'File History' utility is working well for me at the moment.

I would be very cautious with the W10 image utility, at least for me, it did not include all of the hidden disk partitions. It also did not provide all of the capabilities that I required.

Yes it is basic in that it only creates full system images. I've no hidden partitions beyond the one Windows created when I clean installed W10 (the system reserved partition) and that is included by default in the backup/restore process.

I imagine you are referring to manufacturer included hidden partitions such as recovery and diagnostic utilities etc. Ypu may well be correct that it doesn't see and include those.

I have tried it pretty extensively on a dedicated W10 'Enterprise' install that I am using for the sole purpose of trying stuff out... destructively in some cases. The disk imaging hasn't failed as yet.
