How to get back to old interface in Windows Acronis? Can't see partition options

Thread needs solution

Hi folks,

It's been years since I've been here, but I've recreated my account.

I opened up Acronis TI 2016 for the first time in maybe six months to run some backups. The interface was quite unfamiliar all of a sudden. I couldn't find the place where I can simply select partitions within a drive. It offered me a file browser to select files or mounted drives, but the old format with a partition selector seems to be hidden somewhere.

Also, freakishly, I couldn't find a spot to give a backup a specific filename before starting the process. Sure, I can rename the .tib file later, but clearly I'm missing something.

I may just go back to using USB boot media if the Windows version is so dumbed down that I can't even find the options I need.

Can someone steer me in the right direction? Thanks!

Welcome (back) to these User Forums.

I would recommend having a browse through the ATI 2016 User Guide which has a lot of good information showing how the (new'ish) user interface works.

In particular see the section: Backing up disks and partitions which has screen shots showing where to find the options needed.

The .tib file name is taken from the name that you give to your backup task in the GUI - see the section: Backup operations menu which shows where the option to rename a task is shown.

The way ATI works in the new GUI is intuitive once you become a little more familiar with it.
