I'm ready to buy upgrade RIGHT NOW but I am confused

Thread needs solution

Hi, I own three different full version of True Image, some of which I bought on a DVD or through digital download and most have been upgraded at one time or another.   The versions are 2015, 2010 home, and 2014.  I'd like to take advantage of the upgrade offer of 39.99 for 3 PCs to get them all up to 2016 so they work for Windows 10.

The problem is my True Image account is under an email account I no longer use.  Also, for privacy, I didn't use my real name.  When I login I can now change my name but not my email address.

When I log into my account it doesn't show ANY products registered. I honestly can't remember if I registered the product keys when creating the account.  If I wasn't required to do so then it's likely I did NOT do so.

Does this mean I never bothered to register the actually product keys when I created my account?  If so, can I just create a NEW account, use my old product keys to get the upgrade as opposed to the full version price?

Thanks in advance for a quick reply!

Bob, you would be best to contact Acronis Support directly on this issue as only they can check whether your 2010, 2014 and 2015 serials have been registered already, and if so to what email address.  They could also faciliate the transfer of these serials to your current email address assuming you can provide sufficient information to prove to them that you are the rightful owner.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I just finished with a 15 minute live chat with "Rohith" who was unable to understand the nuance of my questions.  It's too bad because I like True Image and have used it for years, but honestly it's just not worth the headache of dealing with these kinds of issues.   Among other things, I don't understand why after I've logged into my account I can't just change my own email address.  Why create headaches for paying customers for no reason?

I've been using TI since 2008, but I'm now off to find alternative Back up Imaging software to replace it rather than deal with this problem any longer.  TI was good, but much more advanced that I need for my purposes anyway.   I'm pressed for time, so if I can't find something better, I'll just create a new account a pay full price rather than spending one minute trying to resolve this issue with you people.   Very disappointing and I will pass the word.

Bob, sorry to hear that support couldn't help with your problem, this is just a user forum and the majority of those answering posts are users just like yourself, myself included.

I would suggest sending a PM to Gaidar, General Manager Acronis True Image with reference to this post thread and see if he can help resolve this for you, though it may be Monday before he replies given it is a weekend.

Ditto - I think this should be easy to iron out.  I don't see why you could not create a new Acronis account and simply register your existing license keys if you have them available (should show up in the application or on the original box/cd if you have those too).  Under your products page there is an option to register keys, if they are not registered to someone else already, you should be able to register them now.  If they are registered to another account that you no longer have access to, but can show some type of proof of purchase or way to validate that those are your license keys (if it needs to go that far), acronis can merge all of the keys to your existing account/email.  I've done this in the past withotu issue, but I could also provide proof of purchase for my boxed versions so it was very simple.  I imagine it might be more difficult it the license are registered to another account though that still exists and you have no proof of purchase, but talking to the right support engineer will hopefully sort that out.
