Incremental backups not mounting drive letters from increments.

Thread needs solution

Until recently, it was usually possible for me to mount an incremental backup of a partition as a drive letter by right-clicking on it and selecting Mount, but at asome point perhaps a few months ago (I'm not sure exactly when), this consistently stopped working on two different machines.  The original full backup will mount properly, the increment(s) won't, which of course does not inspire confidence in the integrity of the backup (!!).

Validating the offending partition doesn't produce useful information, in part because the program leaves no clear information whether the backup passed or failed validation ... assuming that no information=pass, then the offending backups did appear to pass validation.

Try this Tib Mount Error Hotfix - just install it like a regular app - it is an add-on for this particular error if it occurs

Similarly, if you ever get an error stating somethingn to the effect that it cannot locate the first volume, use this work-a-round

If you want a logviewer, check out FTRPilot's logviewer App - very nice and the best we have until Acronis builds this back in (download is at the bottom of the sticky).

You have 2 other ways to verify the integrity of the backup, without a full restore:

- you can click on "recover files" in the UI,

- you can double click in the TIB file in Windows explorer.

If these operations work, then you have a problem with the mounting feature and not with the backup. The hotfix mentioned above might help.

Glad to hear it!
