Installation problems

Thread needs solution

Hi, just purchased home product and attempting to install I get this message:

Installation has failed.
Error opening installation log file. Verify that the specified log file location exists and that you can write to it

Any ideas? Appreciate any help, I have looked at user guides with no luck.

Hello Craig, some initial thoughts on your install problem:

Are you trying to install when using an Administrator account?  If you are not an Administrator then you could have permission problems with writing to the C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\ folders - these may be hidden on your system, but if you are denied access when trying to open them, that would also indicate a lack of authority here.

The other thought is if there is some corruption with the installation file itself.  If this is a possibility, then download the file again from your Acronis Account.  If you don't have an Acronis Account yet, then create one for yourself and register the serial number for your ATIH 2016 product which will then allow you to download the installer plus other media add-ons etc.

 

Your error indicates an issue with the MSI installer package.  Verify the checksum values for the installation file and if incorrect redownload the install file again.
