Installed ATI 2016 on new computer how to access my backups to do some files recovery???

Thread needs solution

I was using ATI 2016 on a Windows 10 PC, which has been giving me a lot of problems so i decided to switch back to Windows 7. I would like to install ATI 2016 on my new Windows 7 PC and recover files from my backups, how do i present the backup images to this new install of ATI 2016 on the Windows 7 PC so i can recover some files? The backups are on an Seagate USB drive.

thanks

Bobby, it should be as easy as connecting your external Seagate USB drive and then using Windows Explorer, either double-click on any of your backup .TIB files to open and explore them, where you can then use Copy & Paste, or else right-click and take the True Image > Mount option to mount the backup image as a drive letter, and then copy and files / folders as needed.

Alternatively, you can use the 'Add existing backup' option to the Tasks panel of ATIH 2016 - this option is shown when you click on the (V) icon at the bottom of the task list column.

Thank you, Steve, for this reply, I saw a few post with this explanation but since i'd never had to reinstall ATI before i wasn't sure how this worked, how dumb of me!

When i started ATI after installing it, i was prompted to log in using my Acronis account. after I did, the install was activated, and my backup definitions were in place, wow! pretty cool. I then went ahead and started recovering files. Since i was restoring from a different computer with i later realized I should not restore the permission from the backup, because every time i would double-click on a file or folder i was getting the "i don't have permission" prompt.

Thanks again Steve for your help with my question.
