Issue Using Windows 7 Backup

Thread needs solution

I come with hat in hand to ask this august group a question about using the Win 7 backup program on my Win 10 computer. I always like to use two different backup programs, and my choices are ATI2016 and Win 7 Backup.

When using the Win 7 Backup program, my disk space usage summary is that shown in the attachment. I understand Data file backup and System image, but I don't understand the meaning of Other Files. What is the purpose and content of these files? As shown, they require a pretty big chunk (497 GB) of my backup drive. Is there a way of finding out what these files are?

I would sincerely appreciate any advice or education. Thanks in advance

Hi Durago.

Other files should just be a reference to any other files that live on the backup disk outside of Windows images.  These could be personal data files, acronis backup files etc.

Other files refer to files that are on the backup destination drive but are not backup files.

Bobbo & Pat - You are exactly right, and I don't know why I didn't think of that. On this same backup drive, I also save my Acronis and Macrium backups, which total the 497 GB shown under Other Files.

BTW, I also save my Acronis and Macrium backups on two external drives, so all my eggs are not on the same drive, lol.

Thanks to both of you for your prompt and correct answers.
