Just to clarify... latest build of ATI 2016 has driver(s) for Win 7 with a Samsung 950 SSD as boot drive ??
Hello all,
I recently had a very ugly malware experience and went to restore from my latest backup, only realize the NVME driver was not on the ATI recovery media. UGH! Luckily I was able to backdoor Windows 7, as it were, and get the system operational again. (The malware changed all of the Ownership and Permissions... it was 2 days of resetting every folder and file; even Win Restore did not work).
Anyway, I just wanted to make absolutely SURE that the latest build of ATI 2016 has the (Samsung 950) NVME drivers in it, yes? Lastly, and I really did look, is there a "sticky" somewhere that speaks the process of creating the ATI recovery media? I just want a little reassurance that I am doing it correctly. Thank you one and all!
Regards,
Jeff

Jeff, this sounds to have been a nightmare situation and cudos for all the effort you must have put into resolving the problems caused by malware.
I would tend to suspect from the error messages you are showing that there are still some issues on your recovered system and my personal thought would be go back to your initial approach of recovering the system using the Acronis Rescue Media and a recent full system backup image. I am assuming here that you have the latter given that you attempted to use the rescue media.
Quick question here, what build is your current rescue / recovery media built from? I assume again that this was not from either build 6559 or 6571 from your comments.
You can download the latest build rescue media from your Acronis account as an ISO image - you can burn this to CD/DVD or else use ISO to USB to create a bootable USB stick from it. I would suggest creating this latest media and testing to see if it does include the drivers needed for your Samsung 950 NVME drive.
Please see webpage: https://www.acronis.com/id-id/support/updates/changes.html?p=38724 which shows that there is a further new build 6581 that was released just yesterday and which includes the following change:
- NVMe drives and eMMC drives are supported in both the normal and standalone (bootable media) versions of Acronis True Image.
Note: You may need to wait a day or two for the new build version to appear in your Acronis account or else contact Acronis support to request a link to the latest rescue media ISO download. My own account is still only showing build 6571.

Hi Steve,
Yeah this almost turned out to be the perfect storm of issues. Just by sheer luck I have been playing with computers, off and on, since the time when MS-DOS was being passed around on bulletin boards; the good ol' CP/M days. Honestly, I just got lucky. Going forward though I do not wish to be "lucky". I want to make sure, which is the reason I bought a Acronis ATI in the first place, so I would not have to worry about being lucky.
To answer your question about what build my current rescue/recovery media is, this is a sad answer but I honestly do not know. It has been almost a year since I purchased it so the disc would have been created back then. This is why I asked about the latest bills having the NVME drivers in it. As for creating a new set, I just looked in the build that I have downloaded it 6571. So based on your comment and going to wait for the 6581 build before creating my rescue disks.
Having said all that, please know that I am not looking for pity here just a bit of a hand up if possible. Do you, or anyone else that might be reading the post, know if there is a sticky on how to create the rescue media/disks? I only ask because my brain can just not take any more computation at the moment. Again, not to make excuses, but I am in school full-time working on my Masters degree, working at my job full-time, and fighting with this [enter multiple expletives here] computer issue. I know how it sounds, but I just need a dumbed down version so that I can simply follow the steps and know in the back of my head that I am protected. I have received some really great help here in the past when I had some issues with backing up and my NAS authentication. There were two MVPs that were of great help and very patient, they were (I apologize here) Bobbo_3C0X1 and FtrPilot. Thanks again to them for all their help.
Problem is I need to get past this last issue with reinstalling ATI. As I mentioned, I have used the cleanup utility to try and remove it and reinstall, but I keep getting error messages listed above, and now, one that is very similar at boot. ATI is the last piece in the phoenix puzzle here to get fixed, I have control back on everything else. If anybody has any suggestions as to how to thoroughly and completely scrub my system of any remnants of ATI, I am absolutely open to them as I need to get it reinstalled posthaste!
Thanks again to one and all that may contribute, have a great day!
Regards,
Jeff

Jeff, the build 6571 rescue media, if you have downloaded it from your account should also have support for your NVME drive included - if you have downloaded the ISO image, then you can burn this to CD media - just right-click and see what options you are offered by Windows. An alternative method is to download and install the small utility program ISO to USB which will take the ISO image and burn it to a USB stick and make it bootable there - that is my preferred method and most systems allow USB boot. You will need to access the BIOS Boot override menu in either case in order to boot from CD or USB stick - just have the media connected before invoking the menu so that it is offered as a choice.
The main way to create the rescue media otherwise is to do so from the installed ATIH 2016 application using the Bootable Rescue Media Builder function, but this is a catch-22 situation if you cannot get the application to install or run correctly.
See KB document: 56610: Acronis True Image 2016: Creating Bootable Media for guided instructions on creating the rescue media.
For the ATIH install issue, if you have already tried the Acronis Cleanup Tool (link in my signature below) and have run this as Administrator followed by a reboot, then that would have given you a clean install situation, so if these error messages are still being shown the issue is somewhere other than with ATIH.
Have you run SFC /SCANNOW (as administrator) to check for the integrity of the OS applications.
The other option to suggest here is to do a Windows 7 Repair Install as shown in this link.

Jeff, I am now able to download the latest build #6581 installer and rescue media ISO from the old Acronis downloads site https://www.acronis.com/en-gb/my/products/index.html (for me) - the file sizes are 480MB for the installer and 537MB for the ISO file.

I don't have it in my account yet, but Acronis prompts that it's available and downloads it through the app. After it downloaded, but before launching it, I grabbed it from my temp folder
C:\users\username\appdata\local\temp\AcronisUpdates\AcronisTrueImage2016.exe
I then cancelled out of the app, copied it to my desktop (making sure Acronis was closed) and then right clicked and "run as adminsitrator" and all seems to have gone well. Probably don't have to do this, but I feel more comfortable ensuring that the "run as administrator" option has been guaranteed.
