Laptop wont boot after cloning (not the cloned disk - the orignial !!!)

Thread needs solution

I cloned my laptop to an external drive, and everything seemed fine.

BUT when the laptop reboot Acronis starts again every time.

Seems like somthing is not removed from the boot.

I get into the cloning over and over and can't boot into windows (also it suddenly can't find the external drive, so it hangs at the start of the cloning saying som drives are missing).

But how can cloning of the boot drive make the system not booting.

I wanted to take a backup - now I have a system that want boot :-(

Anyone know how to get system booting to Windows and not Acronis again?

If you didn't disconnect the external drive after completing the clone, before rebooting you can face issue like this. Disconnect the external drive and try to reboot with the original. Windows gets easily confused if both drives remain active on a restart. You may have to boot from a Bootable disk or USB flash drive and run a repair to solve the problem.
