Last Backup Failed

Thread needs solution

I did a full system backup and I did not see any messages that it failed but serveral days later it says backup failed. What I think is happening is that after I do a full system backup, the software changes my settings to do a daily backup even though I have set this to do not schedule. My questions are:

  1. How can I tell if my backup did not fail and was successful?
  2. Does a backup automatically change the settings to daily after a full backup?
  3. If #2 is yes, then how do I set this up to never schedule a backup, I want to fully control that manually?

The FailedBackup is the current message and goes away if I reset the settings to a manula backup. The DoNotSched is what I set it to originally and what I have it set to now.

Thanks,

Deborah

Hi Deborah and Welcome,

In addition to the scheduling of backups being set to "Do not schedule"  you also need to set the "Backup scheme".  You should see another tab for that setting in the interface.  By default backups as set to an Incremental scheme and that is why the application is telling you the backup failed as you have an incremental backup set do no schedule.

In the Backup scheme settings choose

Backup Scheme - Single version or Custom

Backup method - Full

This should change the beahvior the application and get rid of the failed warnings.

I do suggest that you delete the current task confgiuration you currently have rather than modifying the existing task.  Simply create a new task as indicated here and see if that works for you.
