Missing in Action - Comparing to Acronis True Image 2012
Hi All,
After installing Acronis True Image 2012, it searched the Hard Drive partitions for existing Partition Images.
After installing Acronis True Image 2016, it just sits there. Nothing happens.
With Acronis True Image 2012, I can read the existing Comments included with the Partition Images.
With Acronis True Image 2016, I can't see the existing Comments.
What am I missing? I don't use Cloud Storage at all.
Thanks in advance!

No, automatic search for backups are indeed enabled in TI2016.
This must be an option in TI2016 just as it is in TI2014. Having all old backups added to the list without having the option to remove them in one go is a pain. This just happened to me when i installed TI2016. That could be avoided when doing new installs with TI2014.
Having to remove 30 backups manually one by one from the list is not good.

thank you for your posting.
As far as I remember automatic search for backups on program start was disabled in Acronis True Image 2016. In any case you can add required backups to the list by clicking on plus sign below.
As for comments, this functionality has been also changed. In this program version you can comment the whole backup plan but not the separate backup slices. Comments can be viewed in backup plan options.
Thank you,
Hi Anna,
Backup Plan Options, you mentioned, is not viewable.
I would be looking to Restore, not Backup. I always do Full Backups, no partial backups, no Incremental Backups.
As a User, it should not be necessary to jump through Hoops, in order to see the Backup Comments, of Partition Images. That's crazy.
In Acronis True Image 10 Home, Acronis True Image 2012 and 2014, that I have seen, the Comments are in Plain Sight.
Acronis True Image 2015 and 2016 versions are not User Friendly, in my opinion.

Hi thecreator,
backup plan options (and comments) exist only for backup plans. As far as I can see from your screenshots you don't have backup tasks, only backup in the list (at least the open one).
However, I understand your concern and your words will be forwarded to development. Your feedback will be considered by work on future software versions.
Thank you,

Hi Anna,
I was not backing up, I wanted to see the Comments I had added to the Backups, when the Partition Image was first created with Acronis. Acronis True Image 2012 sees the Comments from Images that Acronis True Image 2015 had created. Acronis True Image 2012 sees Comments from Images that Acronis True Image 10 Home had created as well.
Acronis True Image 2015 and Acronis True Image 2016 saw and sees no Comments after the Partition Image is created.

Hi Roger,
Acronis True Image 2016 Build 5586, broke the automatic search for backups.
When a Customer / User needs to reformat and reinstall the operating system from scratch, Acronis needs to be installed where Acronis did not exist and this Build does not look for existing images at all.
Isn't anyone bothering to Beta Test, prior to release?
