Must turn off firewall to connect

Thread needs solution

I've got several PCs on a network.  On one particular machine, the only way i can connect to the cloud server is to turn off the firewall.  The cloud report shows a success for every port.

Uninstalling/reinstalling doesn't seem to make a difference.

Any ideas what else i can try?

Instead of turning it off, I would make firewall inbound/outbound exceptions for the ports listed in the KB article below and see if it can connect then.

ok, this is really weird.  I've been experimenting with every combination of the suggested ports and the IP addresses of the sites.  I found that things finally worked.  Then, I took options away one by one - finally disabling all of the new rules - and it still worked (?!)

I wonder if it sets some registry entry the first time through and it's really about that registry entry?

Strange indeed. Now that the rules have been removed, reboot and see if it's still working or not. If it is, good, but if not, maybe add one port at at a time to try and narrow which one(s) do the trick.
