Nettoyage des anciennes versions

Hello,
I just bought arconis True Image 2016 and after several days of use I noticed that no cleaning was done well qe I set the rules in this regard.
After reading several of the doc on this specific point I arrived at no result.
Are there users who are able to perform this automatic cleaning operation ?

I have been using ATIH 2016 with automatic cleanup set without any problem for some time, so I can confirm that this does work.

Have you checked the logs for the backup task you have created to see if there are any more detailed messages to indicate why you are not seeing the cleanup working?

The logs are held in C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Logs - this may be a hidden folder on your system which you will need to change the File and Folder options to show hidden files and folders if so.

You could also configure the Notification options to send you an email with the log file attached if that would be easier.

MAIS, j'ai décidé de reprendre a zero et je ne dispose plus de la log de l'ancienne sauvegarde.

Je peux te dire les parametres que j'utilise :

Methode de sauvegarde incrementielle

Seules 2 valeurs sont cochées :

• Creer une version complete toutes les 5 versions incrementielles
• Supprimer les chaines de versions plus anciennes que 7 jours.

Voila, est ce que cela devrait fonctionner ?

Steve thank you for your answer, 
BUT, I decided to return to zero and I no longer log the old backup.

I can tell you the settings I use:
INCREMENTAL backup method
Only two values are checked:
Create a full version every 5 incremental versions
Remove the chains of older versions than 7 days.
That is what it should work?

Jean-Pierre, thank you for the further information, there is one piece that is missing, what is your schedule for this backup task?  Are you doing a daily incremental backup?

If your backup is performed daily, then no cleanup will occur until after the next full version is created on the 6th day as your initial version chain will consist of 1 full backup and 5 incremental backups but that version chain is not yet older than 7 days, and technically the full (6 backup) version chain will not be older than 7 days until 7 days after the final (5th) incremental backup is created.  At least that is my understanding of these configuration settings!

The ATIH 2016 Help text states the following:

Hello Jean-Pierre,

There is no need to change your backup scheme to create a daily backup if you are happy with doing this weekly.

The only difference is that the version chain will take 6 weeks to build the full chain, then one more week before that chain is over 7 days old and can be cleaned up.

Week 1 - Full backup created.
Week 2 to 6 - Incremental 1 to 5 created.  Version chain 1 complete at Week 6.
Week 7 - Full backup created.  Version chain 1 now 7 days old and can be deleted.
Week 8 to 12 - Incremental 1 to 5 created. Version chain 2 complete at Week 12.
Week 13 - Full backup created. Version chain 2 now 7 days old and can be deleted.

I would love to visit Paris, it has been many years since I was last there when I worked for IBM and came to Val de Fontenay for education.  My wife and I enjoyed visiting Normandy on holiday last year, staying by the Seine.

Que pensez vous de True Image Cloud ;

Combien de temps faut il pour sauvegarder 800 méga.

I currently use the classic version and I watch with interest the cloud release.
What do you think of True Image Cloud;
How long does it take to save 800 mega.

Hi Jean Pierre, I have to confess that I do not use the Cloud service, I had a 30 day trial when I installed ATIH 2016 but decided I liked to have full control over my data, so I have bought a new Synology 3TB RAID NAS drive to have my own local network 'cloud' that I can control personally, plus have the option of direct USB 2.0 or 3.0 connections if ever needed.

Most broadband providers here in the UK limit upload speeds for data so that becomes a problem when trying to upload the initial full backup image of 15 - 30GB for my systems, as will take a very long time and I am not convinced that there is good recovery for failed connections etc.
