New Backup Drive Question

Thread needs solution

Hi there:

This may have already been answered in the forums, so my apologies in advance.

When someone is using ATI 2015 or ATI 2016 with a task set up, I understand one can no longer just manually delete the backup files; instead you need to do that from within ATI itself.  However, what happens when the backup drive fails and you can no longer delete the settings AND backup files from within ATI?  How does someone get around the ATI program from trying to continue using the pre-failure settings?  Basically do I have to uninstall and reinstall ATI to get it back to a default setting without any tasks so that I can create a new one without issue?

Thanks.

You should be able to select the backup task that appears in the backup list by left click on it. Then left click on the round circle with the down arrow that appears to the right of the task.  You should find an option to Delete.  Choose that option and you will have 2 options, delete the backup settings or settings and data.  Choose the settings only will remove the task from the list.

Hi there:

When I remove just the task and create a new one, I still get emails stating the backup task is looking for a backup to delete, meaning it is still referring to the past task that was removed.  I don't understand why that is happening and how to prevent it.
