New install - not working

Thread needs solution

I upgraded from free version to True Image 2016 (paid version), and registered the software on the website.

I have tried to run my first Acronis backup to an external hard drive, but when I hit the green "Back up now" button, nothing seems to happen and I don't see any traffic on my backup drive. I see no indication that a backup is taking place or how it is progressing.

When I shut down the laptop, it says Acronis is halting current operations (what operations? nothing is happening!).

What am I doing wrong? How can I tell if the backup is happening or not?

I've gone to the website seeking tech support, but even though my software says it is fully registered and I can see the license key in the software with the green check mark, the website says I have no software registered...so I can't reach online tech support.

Help...?

Beekat what version of 2016 do you have installed?  Please download FTRPilot's log viewer and see if it shed's some light on the issue.  If possible, you can use this tool to save the log files to your desktop and then upload a couple fo them here too.
