new installation will not backup

Thread needs solution

Hi, I recently updated to windows 10 so I upgraded to True Image 2016. When I try to do a backup one of two things happens. Either after a couple seconds a check comes up and everything quits as if done. Or the check comes up and the bar at the top says retrieving information. The problem is three hours later it is still retieving information. I use external hard drives and not the cloud.

I suspect 1 of 2 issues..

1) Windows VSS is borked.  You can try disabling VSS temporarily and run a backup so that Acronis falls back to its own built in snapapi backup method.

2) The install did not complete properly.  You can download the full installer from your account and right click and "run as administrator". Repair the installation and see if that helps.  If not, you may want to consider a complete uninstall using the clean utilty and reinstall from scratch to see if that puts things back on track.
