Hello George,

Actually Acronis True Image 2016 shows you the status of the backup tasks.

Here, for instance you can see that the backup task is in a "Warning" state (since I had cancelled it):

Here the backup is sucessful, so the status is OK (which is surmised from the green check mark).

I hope this helps you.

A request for installing a new version was partially handled on 7/19/16. The attempt for instalation of new version of Acronis true image 2016 was halted by my security (Eset)  flagging gyazo.com.  Suspect this to be a trojan to capture screen shots.  Cancelled the installation but the gyazo.com did install.

This incident occurred on an XP computer, not this computer.

A second question, will Acronis True Image 2015 function on a Linux vs. 16 (I7= this computer) computer?  I switched the I7 from Windows 7 to Linux version 16.  I have a 3 computer license with 2 computers not using their part of the license.

Thanks for your comments.

Leon

The actual name for Gyazo did not have the prefixed "i,"    Wonder if this could have triggered the red flag?

Leon, I have not heard of any virus associated with the ATIH 2016 upgrades and there have been lots of these done, so I suspect a false positive here or else you downloaded the upgrade from a non-Acronis source?

For the second question, ATIH 2015 is only supported to work on Windows OS systems, not on Linux.  You could still use the Acronis Rescue Media to boot the computer outside of any OS environment, though this may result in larger backup files because these may be made using sector by sector techniques.
