No option to mount tib files

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I'm using True image home 2016 on windows 10 Pro - 64 bit.

I can click on a tib file and open it in explorer - but I cannot RH click and find a choice to mount the tib. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling TI but it's still the same.

I realise that opening the files is similar to mounting them - but there are advantages to mounting - such as being able to search for a particular file etc.

Is there a way to manually add the shell extensions - to be able to mount tib files.

PS - I'm also aware that there is no way (unless I haven't found it) to mount these things from within the TI program.

Thanks for any ideas.

JB

John, you should be able to see the options shown in the attached screen capture when you right-click on any .TIB file.

If you don't see these options, then check that you have the following programs active on your system.

TibMounterMonitor.exe
TrueImageMonitor.exe

These can be found by invoking the Windows Task Manager (right-click on the Task Bar)

You should also have the Acronis Scheduler2 Service active, plus optionally, the Acronis Managed Machine Mini, Nonstop Backup and Sync Agent Service.

Thanks for your reply Steve.

I found that TrueImageMonitor.exe was disabled in the task manager "start up" section. I enabled this but it still didn't work.

This got me thinking though - so I had a look in "ShellExView" which is a shell extensions viewer - and sure enough, the Acronis shell extensions were disabled! I enabled these and now it works great.

I don't know how it got like this - I've had true image for many years and a lot of versions, but I haven't tried to mount a tib in a long time. Maybe I disabld something (and forgot) while trying to speed up boot times or something... :-\

Glad to hear you got it working John.
