NVMe - boot media

Thread needs solution

I have Windows 10 Home installed on a Samsung SSD 950 NVMe.

Acronis boot media ( Build #6027 ) does not see the NVMe.

I see there was an update to Acronis Backup for PC (Version 11.7, Build # 44397) which may have addressed the same problem.

When will Acronis True Image boot media be able to see NVMe drives?

Is Acronis True Image the best option? Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hello Tim,

This is a known issue.  The default Linux bootable media and currently does not have driver support for the newer PCIE NVME hard drives.  You will need to create your bootable rescue media as Windows PE which is an available option in the media builder.  However, you will first need to install the Windows ADK.  If you are using the latest version of Windows 10 download the Windows 10.1 ADK from my signature below, if you have an older version of Windows 10 installed, use the Windows 10.0 ADK from my signature below.  You should not need to do any other WinPE customization for this particular driver as it is already included in the Windows 10 version of Windows ADK.

Basically, just download and install the correct Windows ADK.  Once installed, run ATIH 2016 rescue media builder and select WinPE and let it do it's thing.  You can make either a bootable USB version, or an .iso that can be burned to a CD or DVD.
