Open a corrupted tib file

Thread needs solution

I have an inc file that i need to open.  the full original has been deleted.   How can i open the incremental file to retrieve a file recently changed and backed up in inc file?

Harold, I do not believe that this is possible to do if you have deleted the full image file that the incremental image was based upon, as the incremental image would only contain references to the changed data in your file that you are trying to retrieve and not any portion of the file that was unchanged, so you would still get an incomplete portion of file data.

Do you have any other backups of the particular file that you can work with to help you to recreate the changes that have been lost here?

Not possible I'm afraid.  Incrementals rely on the original full, plus all incrementals that came before them...

Incremental backup version

backup version that stores changes to the data against the latest backup version. You need access to other backup versions from the same backup to restore data from an incremental backup version.

While incremental backups give much greater flexibility and granularity (time between backups), they have the reputation for taking longer to restore because the backup has to be reconstituted from the last full backup and all the incremental backups since. Acronis True Image uses special snapshot technology to rebuild the full image quickly for restoration. This makes incremental backups much more practical for the average enterprise.
