Please locate the last volume of the backup.

Thread needs solution

The message "Please locate the last volume of the backup." keeps popping up when I try to do anything with a TIB file.  All of the TIBs I have are complete - none are incremental.

Hi Bill, this could be due to backup corruption, or perhaps something has gone bad with Acronis.

Before diviing into that though, I would suggest creating Acronis Offline Bootable Recovery Media and boot to it.  Then see if you can navigate your backups from within that environment and/or recover them to another disk.  If you are not familiar with this process, it is something you should be... this is your saving grace for backups and the one true way to test and validate your backups with a recovery.  You really always want to know how to do this BEFORE something goes bad, but often times, we're in that  "Oh S#!t" moment trying to recover because Windows is not working and backups have never really been validated and recovered before.

If you can do this within the recovery environment, chances are, there's an issue with your OS installation and/or Acronis installation in Windows and it may be sorted out by removing Acronis and reinstalling cleanly, but let's test your offline backup navigation and recovery first to make sure your backups aren't actually corrupted.

Please take a look at these and become familiar with both (if you're not already) and give them a shot.  I'm not suggesting you replace your existing Windows drive, but that you instead, recover your backup to another drive  (external USB or something) to make sure it works.  If it does, we can try to help you get Acronis in Windows working again.
