Questions not covered in FAQ
I am using Acronis True Image 2016 on a WIN 10 machine. I have read all or most of FAQs but never found these covered :
1. Acronis Rescue Media - can this be created on the same external HDD that I use as a Back up destination ?
2. Can I use the PC normally when a back up is running ? I do know I can but what is the guarantee that work in progress will be updated to the backup volume.
3. When backup compression is used, does it take longer or shorter to complete ?
4. I can copy a file and use from an uncompressed backup volume using Windows explorer. But if I compress can i do this ?
5. Backing up to cloud - I suppose System partitions cannot be backed to Cloud ??

So many small queries but never knew whom to ask - I know I can ask a support engineer but just to get to that stage is a painfully long process. This is faster and precise . Thanks.
I only need to clarify one point regarding Question 1. By extrenal HDD I meant a 500GB drive that connects to the laptop via a USB port. This is the drive I use for regularly storing my backups. So i was wondering if I could buy another new 500GB drive, fisrt create the Recovery Media on it and THEN use it for storing the regular back ups. This way I dont have to plug in the Thumb Drive containg the recovery media and also the HDD containg the back up volume during recovery.
I hope my query is clear. Again thanks for your time.

Windows makes it hard to boot on a USB HDD. Booting is typically limited to USB flash drives. For media that are deemed bootable, like USB flash drives or DVD, ATI allows you to store the image on it, and make it bootable for ATI: ATI stores both its own program and the produced backup on it. But this doesnt' work for USB HDD.
Stick with the recommended approach to have a small USB flash drive to become your ATI rescue/recovery bootable media, and store your backups on the USB HDD.

Perfect. Thats exactly what I wanted to know.
Of course I will then continue to have my Recovery media on a Thumb drive and a USB HDD for BU volumes.
Thanks a lot.
