Recovering to new disk | Do not select MBR and Track 0

Thread solved

In section 5.1.1.4 (of the Acronis True Image 2016 user guide), titled, RECOVERING YOUR SYSTEM TO A NEW DISK UNDER BOOTABLE MEDIA, why does it say, in step 9 (page 74), "Do not select the MBR and Track 0 box."?

Step 1 says to install the new hard drive to the same position in the computer and use the same cable and connector that was used for the original drive.

If the drive is being used in the same PC, why would they specifically say not to select the MBR and Track 0, with no explanation as to why?

Not sure - I've always selected the entire disk, to include mbr and track 0 when swapping a drive into the same system and using the same connector.

The 2019 documentation says it's automatically selected if you recover the entire disk anyway.

The main thing with having it enabled is to not try to boot a system that has the same MBR and Track 0 on 2 different internal disks or you may get a disk ID collision that can bork up bootability on both of them.  Ideally, after doing this restore, power off, disconnect the original drive (so only one is connected at all) and then boot up.  Everything should be good to go.
