Recovery

Thread needs solution

I have a Acronis backup file on an external hard drive, I haven't backed up anything as yet with the newly acquired 2016 version since I want to recover first. The program shows the correct last file backed up via the date with the older version although shows the wrong drive as the source, it should be the J drive. How to change that? or do I have to back up now in order for everything to automatically fall into place? Hopefully the screen shot attached will help to clarify my post.

Robert, from looking at your screen image, the drive letter J:\ is the location where your Backup_full_... image for your WDC drive is stored which Acronis has determined when the backup was added to the list of tasks.

There should be no need to have to change the backup drive letter providing that the image file is actually where it says it is.

You should be able to perform either a Disk or Partitions recovery by selecting what it is you want to recovery on the screen shown.

Thanks for the response....

I started Recovery from Bios, everything fell into place. Once I recovered from the backup, the older True Image 2013 program showed up. Had to re- install True Image 2016 again & of course enter the 101 numbers & letters for the serial #.

Backed up again with the newer program, now all is fine, beats having to install 25 programs or more over again.

Glad to hear all is well again Robert.
