Recovery Disk Problem

Thread needs solution

Downlaoded and installed the 2016 True Image upgrade. I created a emergency boot disk using the 2016 tools menu and tested it by re-bootomg my computer (Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit, build 1157 (latest build)). The recovery started up but said it could not finad an operating system so I was dead in the water.  TI 2015 had done the same thing. I was hoping TI had found a bug and weer correcting it. No such luck.

What can I do?  TI 2014 ran fine with Windows 8.1 Pro. Will it work with Windows 10?

Hello Karl, I would recommend creating the WinPE version of the rescue media if you have a system with UEFI, Secure Boot and/or GPT formatted drives as the standard Acronis rescue media, including the Acronis Startup Manager (with F11 prompt on boot) use Linux based boot media which seems to have problems with newer UEFI type systems.

See two of my previous posts with issues in this area where I have managed to solve these issues:

Hope this information may be helpful to you.

Thanks for the info. While I am not a newbie, I am no expert either. First solution was a little too technical. Downloaded the non-commercial version of EasyBCD and tried to make an image of my c: drive before I tried the 2nd suggestion. That just did not work. Acronis 2016 has just screwed up my system and hard drive/usb drives so bad, I am dumping it. I do not do anything abnormal with my system and I believe a software product should work out of the box, maybe with a few tweaks. But TI 2016 is loaded with issues and should never have been released to the general public. I am advsining everyone I know to use Macrium Reflect or EasyUseToDo.

They are simple and straight forward and work right oout of the box with Windows 10 64 bit Pro. Who needs the troubles caused by Acronis.

Acronis used to be simple and strightforward to use but has gontten more and more complex as time ent on.

Thanks again for your help.
